Get to know your judges!
Good Afternoon!
We hope you all are excited for this weekend! Before the weekend starts, we thought we should first introduce our judges this year:
Alice Herrera is a Sustainable Energy Management Professional with 30+ years of experience in Sustainable Energy Management and Conservation Demand Management.
Isi Caulder is a partner, lawyer and patent agent with Bereskin & Parr LLP here in Toronto. She is co-leader of the firm’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) practice group and helps technology clients build patent portfolios for a wide variety of electrical, computer and mechanical related inventions.
Ruby Sullan is an awarded professor and biophysical chemist at the University of Toronto. Her research interests lies at the interface of mechano-microbiology and materials-biosystems interactions.
Lisa Cole is the Director of Programming for K21 Academy at the Lassonde School for Engineering at York University. She is an award-winning high school physics teacher and former president of the Ontario Association of Physics Teachers.
Your Teachers Activity Manual will be scored by our Pueblo Science team of teachers, and this evaluation will be weighed equally along with the pitch judges. In addition to the $900 prize pool for winning teams, the top two teams will get an additional $250 prize each in Amazon gift cards courtesy of Bergeron Entrepreneurs in Science & Technology—or BEST—Program. BEST is a unique multidisciplinary program at York University to engage stem students in entrepreneurial initiatives. They offer high school, undergraduate/ graduate and industry engagement.
